Room Magazine (formerly Room of One’s Own, so named after the Virginia Woolf piece) has provided a forum for women’s writing since its inception in 1975. The journal published two of my poems in 2007, providing me with some of my first publication credits. From 2011-2014, I was a member of the editorial collective—Growing Room—that publishes and edits the magazine.

This weekend Room is putting on the Growing Room Literary Festival which you can read about here and here. There are two days of readings & panels & goodness. I have the privilege of reading with Ali Blythe, Hiromi Goto, Rachel Hartman, Aislinn Hunter on myths and legends at Creative Institute for the Arts, 112 East 3rd Avenue on Saturday, March 12 at 10:30.
